We know many of our clients and their families are frustrated with the current waiting list system. Here we explain how waiting lists work, and what we’re doing to improve your wait time for services.

At Cerebral Palsy Alliance we are committed to improving our client’s experience of our programs. We are aware that a key area of concern for many families is the wait time for some of our services.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is funded by NSW government to provide a number of therapy and support programs. This funding is not enough to see everyone who requests a service from us during the year. We fundraise to supplement the current government funding and to extend our services but we are aware that waiting times still exist and you wait for too long.

What are we doing to improve wait times?

We are reviewing our appointment scheduling to ensure that your appointments are pre-planned and confirmed in advance. You will now receive a SMS reminder prior to upcoming appointments to assist you to plan and provide us with notice if you need to cancel. This will create more flexibility for us to deal with cancellations and offer appointments when a time becomes available at short notice. We hope  this will mean that we will see more of you and reduce our waiting times.

We are also looking at introducing activities that you can be involved in while you are waiting to see us. This will involve:

  • More information and Q & A sessions, online and face to face
  • More Drop in clinics. Future dates will be published on this website and our Facebook page.

While we are trying to address waiting lists, we firmly believe that as the recipient of our services, it’s your experiences that will guide any improvements. Our other clients will appreciate your candid comments, and so we will be providing an opportunity for you to provide feedback on your experience each time you visit our sites. We will also be contacting your every 3 months to provide details on service experience.

If you have any questions or suggestions for improving our waiting list processes please contact us.
