Alexandra Bird
Position: Physiotherapist

Alex is a local, born and bred. She grew up in the nearby town of Neville and attended the Orange Campus of Charles Sturt University. She was thrilled when she landed a job with Cerebral Palsy Alliance because she wanted to work with children in a multidisciplinary team.

As a country girl Alex is grateful to be able to provide physiotherapy to people who live in rural areas, and that she can support them to reach their goals.

Working in a regional office also means she works with people who have a range of conditions, such as cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder and muscular dystrophy. She supports adults as well as children and enjoys the challenges each day brings.

Alex says a career highlight so far has been helping a child to use assistive technology to walk independently for the first time. Everyone was grinning – the child, her parents and the CPA team. It’s a day Alex will remember forever.
