About Parent to Parent
Parent to Parent is a peer support program that connects parents of children with a disability with trained parent volunteers. The volunteers offer empathy and understanding, based on their own experience of having a child with a disability.
Participants are matched with volunteers by the Program Coordinator - who is a social worker - based on the ages of children and the nature of the disability.
Contact is made via phone, email, or through a private Facebook group. The Program Coordinator stays in touch with parent and parent volunteer throughout their participation in the program.
Parent to Parent is not a crisis service and does not offer counselling, health or medical advice.
