About Ignition Mentoring

Ignition is an award winning mentoring program for teenagers with cerebral palsy and their parents. Participants meet with their mentor for relaxed discussions about aspects of life that matter to them and also take part in fun activities in and around the city.

Mentoring has been shown to be an effective tool in helping teenagers with a disability to build self-esteem, confidence and resilience. Ignition also offers participants the opportunity to make a new circle of friends amongst people who understand their situation. A parallel-run group for parents offers the opportunity to socialise with other parents and discuss common issues about raising a child with a disability.
